The Course

Though many great golf courses and wineries exist in the world today, nowhere are the two combined to create an experience like the one you'll find at Viñas del Golf. Here golfers literally play through vineyards, walnut, pear and olive orchards, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Sierra Pintada Mountains with the Andes as its backdrop. At 7,400 yards from the tips, the course will be a challenge for the low handicapper; yet the 5 different tee boxes make the course accessible to the entire family.

Viñas del Golf currently offers a 9-hole course, and may be counted as the first in Argentina to be surrounded by vineyards. This course was designed by Ricardo Jurado Jr., grandson to the legendary José Jurado; "The father of Argentine Professional Golf." José is perhaps best known for his losing stroke to Tommy Armour at the 1931 British Open. The famous double bogey was at Carnoustie Golf Club's 17th hole, and is reproduced in this course.

An additional 9-holes are currently being added, upgrading our course to 18-holes. Caprile Golf, which has been involved in the building of twelve golf courses throughout Argentina and Uruguay, is overseeing construction. The goal is to create a course that blends with the existing vineyards, indigenous plants, and topography so that it appears as one with the landscape. The design team has opted for a noninvasive approach by allowing the new course to "grow into" its surrounding, and once complete it should reflect a harmonious synergy with the natural beauty of its surroundings. The expansion is scheduled for completion and will be open for play by May of 2009.
